The scientific method is a sequence of steps to investigate the processes by learning new facts and adjusting previous information. It is also referred as a method of inquisition to search out experimental and calculable facts for analysis of data. In simple words, we can say that there are 5 steps of the scientific method, i.e. observation, measurement, conduct an experiment and conceptualization, testing and revision of hypothesis. It is intended that these steps should be quotable. 5 steps of the scientific method must be reliable and accurate to give the same results when it is repeated. In First step, we classify our problem or question. In this, we try to illustrate our problem and can ask a more precise query. At the second step, we will observe the problem and seek to gather more information and resources about the problem. We will try to learn more about the issue. It may also include previous information on this specific area. At the third step, hypothesis is being formulated. To devise hypothesis, we will use our data that we have gathered through observation and measurement of the problem. We will determine the cause and effect relationship of the problem by using our prior knowledge. In the fourth step, we will conduct the testing of the hypothesis. We will make preparation and develop a procedure to test the hypothesis. At fifth step, we will analyze the results. The results are checked to know either our hypothesis was accurate or not. If the results support our hypothesis it will be our final results and we will not make any further investigation. If the results do not support our hypothesis, then we will do a furthermore investigation to find out the real solution to the problem. The main focus of the 15 steps of the scientific method is to acquire the correct results about the processes. It emphasizes a solution to the problem.
Few things must be remembered while performing 5 steps of the scientific method. Try to be more specific and remove any biasness during the testing methods. Hypothesis formed should be consistent in nature. Hypothesis formed must be observable and applicable. This means that hypothesis can be experimented further to check the real outcome. 51 steps of the scientific method must be relevant to the particular phenomena. The whole process should be economical and try to formulate only limited assumptions. The hypothesis must be verifiable can be tested by experiments. The results obtained should reproducible. This means that results should same, if the experimentation would be performed again by the same person or a different one. |
