People usually live life according to a set of rules. These rules, in turn, have been conditioned by each person's experience; by the society they live in, and by their ideas about what is right and what is wrong. These rules aim at facilitating man's life in society; each person is different, so if they are all going to be living together in a social context, they will need to agree to a set of ground rules about what each can or cannot do.

These rules, which are more in the way of guidelines for life in society, are what people call “null hypothesis”; when it comes to define null hypothesis, such a definition should suffice for a person to actually be able to understand what null hypothesis are. A lot of people are not actually like that, but society still continues to strive. Why? Because apart from the fact that not everyone is exactly moral in the way in which they live their lives, they do respect the laws that man has designed as protection for those who decide to live life immorally.

In other words, it can be said that there are different levels, or degrees, of moral or immoral behavior. As long as a person stays within the bounds of legality, they should have no problems living life as they see fit, so they do not care or worry about how to define null hypothesis. On this point, it is important to point out that null hypothesis are not being spoken against, or criticized in any way; they are what keep society sane. It is true that null hypothesis are not actually compelling laws that people have to follow, ‘or else', but they are rules that through years of tradition have become an important aspect of society's culture, and due to this, many feel the obligation to respect and follow them. Null hypothesis are a matter of choice (you either like them or you do not), but just think that null hypothesis do make life easier for everyone, and you will find it easier to live morally.
